The MOLO Obituary Index began in 1998 as a project built and maintained by the MOLO Regional Library System on behalf of the Massillon Public Library Massillon, Ohio.  A group of dedicated volunteers at MPL have undertaken the extensive task of indexing just the obituaries from local papers in their collection to aid in genealogical research. A number of years have already been covered and are now available online, but it will take time to complete the project.  New records are being added all the time so stop back often.

 Recently MOLO has made this service available to all library systems in the MOLO region with the goal of creating a one stop index of obituary records.  For more information on how to participate, see How to Contribute.
