Top Five search tips for using the obituary index.

  1. Try searching more than one field.  Our basic search allows you to search any combination of fields.  You can search by last name, first name, maiden quickly find what you need.
  2. Use the sort features provided on the search results page.  The search results screens allow you to sort records by field name. 
  3. Still can't find it?   Use the advanced searches available including date range to search for index items by date range.
  4. No luck yet?  Try searching by first, last, maiden, or even nickname using our truncation searching.  This allows you to see records that begin or end with similar letters that you specify.
  5. If you have tried all that and you still are not getting results your information is probably not yet indexed with us.  We are constantly updating our index based on information from many sources.  Contact your library for more information or try our Other Resources listing above for a list of similar services to ours on the Internet.
